CWF February Evening Meeting

Speaker Christina Bowman, Craven Community College

with Elizabeth Cook, CWF Scholarship Recipient

Christina Bowman is the Assistant Director of the Craven Community College Foundation, where she plays an integral role in advancing philanthropic initiatives that support student success, workforce development, and long-term institutional growth. Her work includes donor engagement, annual giving campaigns, board relations, and the planning and execution of the Community Fabric Awards, one of the Foundation’s signature events.

A proud Craven Community College alumna, Christina is deeply rooted in the community she serves and is honored to give back to the place that helped shape both her personal and professional journey. From the muddy waters that define Eastern North Carolina’s resilience and character to the classrooms shaping its future workforce, she is passionate about strengthening opportunities for students and families right here at home. In recognition of her dedication and impact, Christina is a recipient this year of the Staff Excellence Award, reflecting her commitment to service, collaboration, and excellence in support of the Foundation’s mission.

Elizabeth Cook is a nursing student with a background in education and experience as a classroom teacher. Her transition into nursing was driven by a commitment to service, advocacy, and patient education. Elizabeth brings strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills to clinical training and is focused on providing compassionate care as a future registered nurse. Elizabeth grew up in Eastern North Carolina and is married with two children. As a full time student Elizabeth is grateful for the support of The Coastal Women’s Scholarship that allows her to continue her nursing education and professional development.

Thank You to Our February Dessert Sponsor

 Linda Jarvis, Lynaire Kennels

I originally grew up on Long Island then moved to Morehead City in 1977. I spent 25 years as the Administrator of Carteret Surgical Associates. I started showing Aireda le terriers in 1980s. I had a small hobby kennel at my home and quickly found my friends asking me to board their dogs. At that time there was also no place I would leave my dogs. An idea was born! We opened Lynaire Kennels in December 1994. In 1998 I moved to New Bern. I met and married James in 2004. I have shown many dogs to their Championship and have served on the board of the Airedale Terrier Club of America including 2 years as President.
